When Art Comes Alive- an original poem

by Shintaro Ohata

When
paintings pour
out of picture frames
and statues
shift their eyes;
when
violin strings
pluck themselves
and andante
notes rise;
when
beauty breathes
upon anything
created or
contrived-
that,
my friends,
is truly when
art comes alive.
